PRD Collection: Coordination & Governance for Human Flourishing
Version 1.0 | Status: Draft / Research
1. Project: “Synapse” (Democratic Planning Engine)
1.1 Overview
Synapse is a resource-matching algorithm designed to replace the chaotic price signals of capitalism with a real-time, data-driven map of human needs and ecological capacity. It facilitates “Participatory Economics” (Parecon) at scale.
1.2 User Personas
- The Household: Wants to ensure they have food, energy, and essentials without navigating predatory markets.
- The Production Collective: Needs to know what to produce, in what quantity, and where the raw materials are coming from.
1.3 Functional Requirements
- Need-Input API: A privacy-preserving interface for users to log “Standard Consumption Bundles.”
- Ecological Guardrail Engine: A backend service that cross-references production plans against local biodiversity and carbon thresholds.
- The Matchmaker: A multi-objective optimization algorithm that prioritizes “highest social need” and “lowest ecological impact.”
1.4 Technical Stack (Proposed)
- Engine: Rust (for performance and safety).
- Optimization: Linear Programming (LP) and Heuristic Search.
- Privacy: Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP) to ensure aggregate needs are known without exposing individual household habits.
2. Project: “FlowState” (Liquid Democracy Platform)
2.1 Overview
FlowState moves beyond the “4-year election cycle” by allowing citizens to delegate their voting power to trusted experts or peers on a per-topic basis, with the ability to revoke it instantly.
2.2 Key Features
- The Delegation Graph: A visual representation of how your vote is traveling. If you delegate to ‘Jane’ for Ecology, you can see if ‘Jane’ has further delegated that power to a specific NGO.
- Topic-Based Tagging: Users can set different proxies for #Climate, #Education, and #Infrastructure.
- Proposal Versioning: A Git-like system where laws are “pulled,” “forked,” and “merged” based on community consensus.
2.3 Success Metrics
- Representation Density: Measuring the percentage of the population actively represented in any given vote.
- Delegation Velocity: The speed at which users reassign votes in response to proxy performance.
3. Project: “Co-Op OS” (Platform Coop Framework)
3.1 Overview
An open-source infrastructure suite that allows any group of workers to launch their own peer-to-peer service (like ride-hailing or delivery) without a corporate middleman.
3.2 Core Modules
- Governance Module: Tools for quadratic voting on company policy and executive (steward) selection.
- Automated Treasury: A smart-contract-based wallet that handles “Surplus Value Distribution.”
- Reputation Portability: An identity layer that allows a worker to bring their 5-star rating from one coop to another.
3.3 Security & Compliance
- Sybil Resistance: Proof-of-personhood protocols to ensure one worker = one vote.
- Local Legal Wrappers: Pre-built legal templates for registering the entity as a worker cooperative in various jurisdictions.
